At the invitation of the School of Pastoral Agricultural Science and Technology of Lanzhou University and the National key Laboratory of Pastoral Agricultural ecosystem, and supported by the National Bureau of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mingshu Cao, a senior scientist at the Royal grassland Agriculture Research Institute of New Zealand and a professor at Lanzhou University, visited and conducted academic exchanges from November 12th to November 25th, 2019.

Mingshu Caorespectivelymade academic reports entitledNew Strategy for flowering gene mapping of perennial ryegrassandstudy on cytoplasmic inheritance of perennial ryegrass based on GBS Molecular markersandbrief introduction to RNASeq Analysis process.In this paper, the difference of flowering time of perennial ryegrass was introduced, and a new strategy of flowering gene mapping of perennial ryegrass was introduced.Secondly, Mingshu Cao introduced the working principle and method of GBS and its application in forage breeding to the teachers and students of the meeting in detail, mainly introduced the cytoplasmic inheritance genetic markers based on ryegrass GBS data.Finally, Mingshu Cao explained the application and analysis process of RNASeq in transcriptomics.

During the visit, Mingshu Cao guided the innovation and utilization of team genomes and transcripts in the Institute of Pastoral Agricultural Science and Technology, and gave detailed and detailed guidance on the data analysis and article writing of the graduate students in bioinformatics and genetics and breeding, and put forward some valuable suggestions.
