Invited by Professor Zhang Jinlin of College of Pastoral Agriculture Science and Technology, Shi Huazhong, Visiting Professor of Lanzhou University and Associate Professor of Texas Tech University held an online frontier lecture on plant stress response from 8.30am to 11.30am on May 18 through Tencent Conference. Three academic reports of “Salt stress signaling and tolerance”, “Regulation of stress-responsive genes” and “Sulfonation of small molecules and stress response” were successively delivered. The latest laboratory research progress in plant stress response was systematically introduced in a simple but profound manner. The lecture mainly included signal transduction and sodium ion transport mechanism in response to salt stress in plants, gene regulation mechanism in response to stress in plants, and the role of high affinity polyamine transporter LHR1 in gene regulation induced by heat stress.

More than 200 undergraduates, postgraduates and teaching staff in related research fields of College of Pastoral Agriculture Science and Technology and Life Science College attended the lecture. Professor Zhang Jinlin presided over the lecture. After the lecture, Associate Professor Shi Huazhong had an intense interaction with some teachers and students attending the lecture.
